How it began Many years ago...
On a small island located off southern Italy, local
monks handwrapped fresh cheeses and meat in a dough loaf. This distinctive
meal was served not only to all the monks but also to weary travelers
on their long journey into the mountains. Over the years this hand-wrapped
loaf became a ttradition and was called STROMBOLI,
for the island where it all began.
This is a special recipe that we developed over time. Our bread is made fresh everyday it offers a crisp outer wrapping that by itself is worthy tasting! And, to continue in that tradition, we here at Leonetti's Frozen Foods still make all of our Strombolis and Calzones by hand. We only use high quality meats, 100% whole milk provolone cheese and the finest farm vegetables. These ingredients are wrapped inside a delicious bread dough. No preservatives or additives are ever used in our bread dough. Our Stombolis and Calzones taste like you made them at home if you had the time to make them.
